Rebel Wilson has recalled losing her virginity to actor and comedian Mickey Gooch Jr.
In her newly released memoir Rebel Rising, the Australian actress, 44, opened up on her exes and losing her virginity aged 35. She explained that one of the reasons she waited to have sex was because she felt that “as a big girl, no one would ever truly find me sexually attractive”.
Rebel revealed that Mickey – son of multimillionaire banker Michael Gooch founder of the $700million GFI Group, had no idea it was her first time.
She write: “And, Micks, I know this might be news to you if you are reading this, but yes I lost my virginity to you.” The Pitch Perfect star explained that learning her mother had breast cancer was part of the motivation to lose her virginity.
“Life IS short. I didn’t want to live my life without experiencing sex. Experiencing love. I put it out into the universe that I was finally ready. I was going to feel the fear and just do it,” she added. “I was going to slut it up with the next guy that came along – who also seemed like a suitable marriage candidate.”
Rebel recalled meeting Mickey after her Pitch Perfect co-star Hana Mae Lee set them up when she returned to Los Angeles after spending time with her mother in Australia. She said Mickey “pursued” her after a month of dating she invited him to fly out to New York and stay with her.
Rebel and Mickey dated for six months
Rebel detailed watching porn and using a vibrator the night before “in preparation. She added that once she’d had sex with Mickey, she wanted to be with him “all the time”, adding: “I’d imagine having sex and being intimate and everything would always be in my head. Now I’m someone who lives much more in my body. And I’m loving it. Now I actually have a boyfriend and he’s handsome and rich to boot.'”
Rebel and Mickey dated for six months but their romance fizzled out, with the actress realising she had to walk away when she discovered the actor was an addict. Mickey confessed he had been in rehab 17 times and Rebel waited a year to see if he could clean up and they could rekindle their relationship.
Although they failed to reunite romantically, the pair have remained great friends. In 2021, Mickey shared a throwback picture of the couple calling her “the most beautiful girl I know!… Inside and out.”
Elsewhere in her memoir, Rebel admitted she used weight-loss and type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic to help her lose 80lbs back in 2020. The actress previously claimed to have lost 80lbs and reached her 165lb goal weight through high-intensity workouts with fitness trainer Jono Castano Acero. She also claimed she enjoyed long hikes and a high-protein/low-sugar diet.
